Think Small for Big Results
A Workshop to Help Arts Organizations Work with Small Businesses

Purpose and Format
This workshop is designed to help arts organizations of all sizes develop relationships with, and support from, small and midsize companies. Each workshop, which may be organized for a half or a full day, includes three basic components:

  • A presentation by BCA members and its professional staff about facts and trends gathered from BCA's national research and information from BCA's small business focus groups.
  • A panel discussion featuring three to four small business owners and executives discussing how and why their companies became involved with the arts and what it takes to keep their companies involved.
  • An informal question-and-answer session which may include representatives from an art organization sharing their experiences with small businesses or seeking specific directions as they consider approaching these businesses.

Participants
Executive Directors, Directors of Development, External and Community Affairs, as well as members of the Board who are responsible for fundraising.

A Breakfast Meeting to Help Small Businesses Become Involved with the Arts

Purpose and Format
This breakfast meeting is designed to help small and midsize businesses of all types become familiar with the arts organizations in their community, understand the value of the arts to the quality of life and the economic vitality of their community, and discover ways to form relationships with the arts that benefit business, the arts and the community. Each meeting, hosted by a business leader in a community and/or a business organization such as a Chamber of Commerce, includes three components:

  • A presentation by BCA members and its professional staff about facts, figures and trends gathered from BCA's national research and information from BCA's small business focus groups.
  • A panel discussion featuring three to four small business owners and executives discussing how and why their companies became involved with the arts and what their companies realize from this support.
  • An informal question-and-answer session.

Participants
Small and midsize business owners, partners and executives.

Conferences

Executives from BCA member companies and members of the BCA staff are available to speak at conferences and workshops about business alliances with the arts.
