February 1, 2006, New York, New York — Recognize a company for its exceptional involvement in the arts — one that sets the standard for excellence. Nominations open today for THE BCA TEN: Best Companies Supporting the Arts in America — 2006, sponsored by Business Committee for the Arts, Inc. (BCA) and FORBES Magazine. The deadline is March 31, 2006, 5:00 p.m. EST. For nomination guidelines and form, visit www.bcainc.org/thebcaten.
THE BCA TEN, the first annual recognition program of its type, was created last year to honor small, midsize and large businesses for their outstanding involvement in the arts. Selected by an independent panel of judges from the arts and business, THE BCA TEN — 2006 will be announced this fall in New York during a gala event. Sponsors include the Principal Financial Group, Des Moines, IA, and MARKEM Corporation, Keene, NH. The BCA Leadership Award and the BCA Hall of Fame inductee will also be announced during this gala event.
"THE BCA TEN offers arts organizations a unique opportunity to showcase their exceptional business partners in a national arena. These companies will serve as role models for other companies to follow," said Judith A. Jedlicka, President, BCA, a national not-for-profit organization established in 1967 by David Rockefeller to bring business and the arts together. "Nominating a company that makes the list also offers arts organizations opportunities to increase their visibility locally and nationally."
The Business Committee for the Arts, Inc. (BCA) is a national not-for-profit organization that works to ensure that the arts flourish in America by encouraging, inspiring and stimulating businesses to support the arts in the workplace, in education and in the community.
