Price Chopper supports the arts as part of its philosophy of giving back to the communities in which it operates, in addition to recognizing the intrinsic value and the positive impact that the arts have on the quality of life of a community. The company supports a wide-range of emerging and established visual and performing arts organizations throughout the Capital Region of New York State and New England.

During the past five years Price Chopper has focused on supporting programs that increase access to the arts and make them more available to children and their families, such as:

  • Sponsoring, coordinating and participating in numerous special community events including Melodies of Christmas. This live performance, featuring the Empire State Youth Orchestra and The Area All-State Choir, benefits the Albany Medical Center's Child Cancer Program and is televised on WRGB-TV on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
  • Supporting the Albany Symphony Orchestra's Sunday Symphonies for Families program which offers children and their families a fun, interactive introduction to classical music and helps to build future classical music audiences. The support enables the Symphony to offer reasonably-priced tickets-making the program accessible to families of various income levels.
  • Partnering with arts organizations to provide discounted admissions through the use of the Price Chopper AdvantEdge card-a shopper card-to a wide variety of cultural and arts venues and events across the Capital Region including: The Empire State Aerosciences Museum, Glenville, NY; The Troy Junior Museum, Troy, NY; The Saratoga Children's Museum, Saratoga Springs, NY; Proctor's Theatre, Utica, NY; and the Palace Theatre, Albany, NY.
  • Contributing to the capital campaigns of various museums and cultural institutions including The Music Haven Stage in Schenectady's Central Park; The Norman Rockwell Museum, Stockbridge, MA; The Tang Museum and The Saratoga Children's Museum, Saratoga Springs, NY; The Arts Center, Rennselaer, NY; Munson Williams Proctor Institute, Utica, NY; and The Empire State Aerosciences Museum, Glenville, NY.
