"There is little that an adult can provide for young people and for his
community that compares with the arts. The arts enrich the lives and the spirit
of the individual."
– Charles A. Stakely, Senior Partner
Objectives
To heighten its visibility and reputation within the community, to enhance
employee morale, and to build supportive audiences for the arts.
Process
- Rushton, Stakely, Johnston, & Garret provides general support to Montgomery
Symphony Orchestra and established a cello scholarship as part of the
orchestra’s Fellowship Program.
- The firm was also instrumental in developing a relationship between the
orchestra’s Blount Young Artists Concerto Competition and the Tanglewood
Music Center, Lenox, Massachusetts. This relationship provides students from
throughout the state with information about Tanglewood and its training and
concert programs, and encourages talented youth to pursue their studies of
music.
- Additionally, the firm offers its employees free tickets to theater performances
and museum exhibitions to build an interest in the arts and to encourage them to
serve as volunteers for arts organizations.

has enhanced its reputation as a business dedicated to improving the quality of
life in the Montgomery area, and increased volunteerism among its employees. The
firm’s support has also heightened awareness in the arts and helped the
Montgomery Symphony Orchestra increase interest in its educational programming.
